How to protect your usb key from malware
I’ve discovered around the web a simple method to protect my usb keys, in fact the number of virus and malware that go through our usb keys is growing and not all detected by antivirus software.
The solution is the opposite, if we cannot check the disk at access time we make the disk not writable by blocking the key component of malware diffusion : the file autorun.inf.
For these purposes, we just use some simpe portable apps, for example:
USB Defender – http://sites.google.com/site/mbentefor/proj_usbdefender
FlashDisinfector – http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/Flash_Disinfector.exe
Install on your machine and launch when a clean flash is plugged in your usb ports.
