Create a scheduled task on McAfee ePolicy orchestrator 4.0
here we will describe the procedure to plan a massive execution of an on demand scan on all McAfee clients on a LAN. In this case we plan the daily execution of the scan.
Login on the web console of McAfee orchestrator than go to Systems.
Select on the left the Organization which will be linked to the Task and where there are the clients that will be affected to.
Select New Task from the bottom of the window.
Select the product type to use for the Task(warning: the options of the tasks depends on the product selected).
Select VirusScan>version> and insert a description that will be listed on the tasks summary page. My configuration of scanning objectives is the following:
For the scheduling i suggest to plan a daily scan with a rotation over 3 days, randomization set on 2 hours.
The time according to tasks run must be UTC.
Select NEXT and SAVE.
Tomorrow we can check on the ssytems selected if the task have been executed.
